    Sometimes , An architect is stimulated by  architectture  itself . The object that appears by seeing the building site, analyzing the condition and going through the schemes.


      The original building site has a state  forest behind, and is located on the top of Kitano-cho with a panoramic view of the city of Kobe.   Inside the gate,  a traffic circle is located in the center and the building encircled it.  There is a tennis court inner part.  The client's house is on the top of the slope,where you could feel the prosperity of Kobe after the war.

       The project to build an apartment for rent was started as a result of unavoidable circumstances of inheritance.  The request of the client to keep the lifestyle in memory of her deceased husband was consistent.         Responding to  a request and considering the meaning of  architecture, I elicted an answer.   That was to coexist the memories of the place and the house .

       The building is floated by curved pillars as if it was carefully settled.  It's a spectator seat  to enjoy the view rather than a house.    I tried to measure the distance between the memories and the site.   From the point of view of coexistence of memories, the form of the building was decided by considering the flow planning of the rotary placed in the center.   I  took advantage of spline curve design in order to define the common point of the site and the building.  The  spline curve line is linked to a wall of the residential space which is floating.  

       Various "lines" of life such as the movement of people, light and the wind devide the space inside and becomes a partition.  The same shape pillars stands in sequence. By that I  tried to fragmentate the meaning of the building and show it's ambiguity.

      The schemes were piled up by considering various "lines(flows)", which came from the condition of the site, the issues of the plan, what naturally happened to come out in the process, and so on.   By that, the necessity of the architecture came out with an autonomy. Which means that the architecture starts to face with the architect from a certain point.

       I call an architecture in this state as an "object".    The completed "object" also stimulates the architect's sense and leave architect's hands.  When the spline curves  leaves the hand of the architect, it makes a humane flow of time and makes a place in a comfortable  scale. And the architecture will posses the power to exist as an "object".

       Could we or can  architects who try to bear the next age  enlighten the world??

       Considering such a question, l even so want to be paticular about the "FORM" of building.
